Australians and their Bicycles photographic exhibition at the Canberra Bicycle Museum; part of Vivid, Australia's first ever National Photography Festival.

The Evolution and Science of the Bicycle

As part of the Australian Science Festival, bicycle historian and physicist Leon Arundell will lead you through the evolution of the bicycle and its strange and wonderful physics, illustrating his talk with examples from the extensive collection of the Australian Bicycle History Centre. Followed by an optional group bicycle ride. Time 11.30am to 12.30pm.  Bookings recommended: contact 02 6247 1363 or 0431 979 184. Cost $10 (student and concession $5).

14 September Informal vintage ride to Wattle Park, Melbourne
The current plan, subject to change, is to meet at Blackburn Station around 10 am, perhaps adjourn briefly to a local cafe, then ride about 15 km to Wattle Park, mostly on bike tracks, to Wattle Day. Wattle Day is run by Parks Victoria with community organisations involved. Inquiries to Phil Crohn: philcrohn [at] ozemail.com.au.

Canberra Vintage and Classic Cycle Ride.

A great opportunity for owners of, and all those interested in, old cycles (pre 1985) to meet and ride around Canberra's picturesque Lake Burley Griffin (22km) or a shorter ride of 10km. Meet at 10am at the Carillon in Kings Park, Wendouree Drive and join in a fantastic day of checking out the old cycles, talking with other enthusiasts and enjoying a leisurely cycle around your Capital's famous lake.
